When reserving seats on the glacier express from zermatt to st moritz is it possible to choose your seat or does the company automatically assign the seat. The website specifies not being able to book until 90 days before the trip but if you have a Swiss pass then it appears that you can do seat reservation prior to this ?

Is the 3 course lunch a set menu or is there a choice ? How do I find if they have a gluten free option? Is the train lunch reasonable quality?

Hi Davidjm2389,

You can't select your seat. You can usually book 3 months ahead of time, but sometimes even earlier than that. That applies to everyone, not just to pass holders. Right now you can book for the end of August through www.raileurope.com.au# tab3. I didn't check later dates. You can get your pass on the same website: www.raileurope.com.au/ pass/swiss-pass-7314.

I don't know what exactly they serve if you order the 3 course lunch. The menu can be found through glacierexpress.ch/EN/ Travel_information/ Food_beverages/ Pages/default.aspx. I haven't tried the lunch on the Glacier Express, but I enjoyed the food served on other Swiss trains.

Enjoy the trip!
