    Hi

I plan to take the golden pass line from Montreux to Interlaken on 20 Mar2013 at 15:44.
I went to check the seat reservation on goldenpass.ch.
The picture shows 7 carriages, one of them is Golden Pass Panoramic VIP which cannot be reserved online. Two carriages can be reserved and the rest of the carriages (4 carriages) cannot be reserved as well.
    My questions are
    1) I will be holding a swiss pass 2nd class, can I reserve a seat in the Golden Pass Panoramic VIP?
    2) What kind of carriages are the rest? Are they normal trains?

    Thanks.
    Tibbie

    Hi Tibbie,

    1) Yes, you can. You need to book a seat reservation plus an upgrade ticket to 1st. class. The latter can be purchased at any manned station in Switzerland. As for booking the VIP seats: you can book them online through the page you’ve been visiting. The label “GoldenPass Panoramic VIP” you saw in the booking system is not marking the carriage with the VIP seats. It’s the name of the train. To book the VIP seats, click the carriage at the head of the train and proceed from there.

    2) I don’t think there’s much of a difference between the ones that can and can’t be booked online. It’s just a matter of offering seats different ways: online and through the service desks in Switzerland.

    Hi

Thanks for your reply. However, I’d tried and unable to click on the Goldenpass Panoramic VIP.

    Hi Tibbie,

You need to click on the carriage at the head of the train (at the far right), not at the Goldenpass Panoramic. From there, you’ll see the VIP seats in the front of the train.

I’ve decided not to reserve seat. Thanks anyway.
I have one more question. Is it 50% discount on the trip to Jungfrau for Swiss Flexi Pass on non validated date? I’m confused as some ppl

    say only 25%. Thanks!

    Hi Tibbie,

The trip is 50% off until Wengen or Grindelwald, and 25% off from there. You can see such details on the downloadable map you find on the Swiss Pass page.
