Hello,

We (4 adults + 1 kid) are planning to take the golden pass panaromic train between Montreux and Interlaken as a part of our Switzerland trip. We would be having our luggage with us as Interlaken would be our next destination. We were interested in covering Gstaad and Saanen on the way. I am trying to figure out how we can work this out by taking into consideration that we have luggage and also goldenpass Panaromic train is only at specific times. Also how much time would we need to visit Gsaad and Saanen? We would be visiting other smaller villages like gruyeres, murren , grindelwald. Would Gsaad and Saaned offer anything different or would we be better off going directly to Zweisimmen?

Any inputs would be great. Thanks you very much.

Hi deepab,

I would not get off in Saanen. It's a nice village but there's not much to see or do. Gstaad is a better place to have a break for an hour or two to have lunch for example. You can put your luggage in the lockers at the rail station. Whether this is too much hassle is a matter of personal preference. If you're going to do this, I recommend to take the Panoramic train from Montreux to Gstaad. From Gstaad, just take any train that is convenient for you, ignoring whether it is labeled "Panoramic" or not. The timetable helps you to plan.

More about the Golden Pass line can be found here.
