We are staying in Wengen and planning to hike to Kleine Scheidegg and then considering going all the way to Grindelwald however the routes I’ve researched tend to focus on going the opposite direction. I presume because Kleine – Grindelwald is very steep and more difficult?

Any thoughts on which direction is better?

    Hello,

Climb from Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg is 700 metres

Climb from Grindelwald Grund to Kleine Scheidegg is 1100 metres.

When there is sun, you have the sun in your back between Kleine Scheidegg and Grindelwald.

It is a nice, but long walk.

    Greetings Brahms

You might consider taking the gondola from Wengen to Mannlichen then walking toKleine Scheidegg then take the train up to Eigergletcher and take the Eiger walk down to Grendenwald. Beautiful scenery and much easier

Thanks all! Very useful. We’re low on time so the train options with hiking sprinkled in there seem like the best bet!
