Hello Guys,

I am having a Swiss travel pass and will be based in Wengen. My plan for Jungfrau Excursion is as below:

-> Wengen->Wengernalp by train. Then hike Wengernalp to Kleine Scheidegg, then KS to Jungfrau by train.

-> While return Jungfrau to KS by Cable car and then to walk down to Mannlichen, then Cable car from Mannlichen to Wengen.

1) Is the plan fine or any suggestions on modifying my trip plan ??

2) Wengen to Wengernalp by train, Is it free with my STP or I have to pay 75% of the fare ??

3) KS to Jungfrau, roundtrip will cost me 75% of 64 CHF..Correct me if I am wrong because I cannot find any option for discount while trying to buy from sbb.ch

4) TIll Mannlichen its free since I will be hiking, then Cable car from Mannlichen to Wengen will cost me 75% of the fare or is it free with my STP ??

Hi Sambeet,

1) There is only a train to and from Jungfraujoch, so coming down by cable car is not possible. Other than that your plan is fine.

2) You’ll pay 75% for that trip.

3) SBB is not geared to tourists but to Swiss residents, so indeed it does not show Swiss Travel Pass discounts. You can use their website for train schedules and regular prices of town to town train tickets, but not for most mountain trips by cable car and cogwheel trains. In this case, please see http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfraujoch/tickets and click the link at the bottom under “More information”. As you can see there a return ticket will cost you 75% of CHF 128 (CHF 64 is a single trip).

4) This one costs 50% of the normal fare. You’ll find all discounts on the Swiss Travel Pass map: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity
