Hello DYIP and Wecome to MySwissAlps,
This can depend a little on the hike. If it’s a “one way” hike, then the time is from A to B. If it’s a circle hike, then it’s the entire round trip. See the “Route” tab of below hikes as examples:

If you tell us which hike you’re talking about we can provide a more accurate answer.
Best,
Steph

We plan to spend a day at Schilthorn in during Sept 2019. Our home base is Interlaken.
Plan to stop at Birg to do Skywalk and then go to Piz Gloria via Gondola/cable car.
After that we want to hike. We are thinking of Northface trail – duration 2.3 hours, I think it is round trip. The other is Birg – Grauseeli – Brig, this looks like round trip is 2 hours too. These are 2 trails we have in mind. Any suggestions of trails? The family is in good physical shape.
Thanks
Hi DYIP,
You’ll find our suggestions for regional walks and hikes here: http://www.myswissalps.com/mu rren/activities. The Northface trail happens to be a circle so indeed it takes 2.5 hours to get back to where you started. The other hike is at least 500 m higher in different terrain (rocky). I haven’t done it but I’m sure it’s great so you can’t go wrong with either.
We did the North Face Trail 2 days ago. It took a bit longer since we stopped to gaze at the absolutely spectacular scenery so often so factor it in! Of the 10 ir so hikes we did over the past week, this was one of my very favorites as it provided such a different perspective of the mountains we had been looking at all week. Can’t go wrong!
