Hello, assuming the forecast for Jungfrau is poor again tomorrow, I’m thinking of taking the cable car to Mannlichen and going for a hike. I know it’s possible to walk to Kleine Scheidegg but does that apply to a beginner?

    Hi Susie-

<<“I know it’s possible to walk to Kleine Scheidegg but does that apply to a beginner?”>>

    In general, yes.

Here is a description of the easy trail:

At this time of year, the trail would normally be impassable due to snow.

However, it is one of the select trails that are often groomed for Winter hiking:

It may be closed. Snowslide concerns can be an issue.

You can ask at the rail station(s) or tourist information offices.

Or, just go up and and take a look. If the trail is open, it will say so. It may only be open as far as Tschuggen, or not a all. Nice views from up there.

    Good luck.
