I asked the Wengen Tourist office about hiking trails today (June 4), specifically if any of the following trails were yet open

Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg
Schynige Platte to First
Lauterbrunnen to Sulwald
Sulwald to Lobhornhütte
Eigergletscher Trail (from Alpiglen to Eigergletscher station)

Their reply:

"All of them are still closed except from the one from Lauterbrunnen to Sulwald and to the Lobhornhütte - but it might be that there will be some snow on the path. Unfortunately it is very hard to tell you when exactly they will open because the weather here is unpredictable at that moment.
Otherwise there are many other nice walks which are open."

Earlier we learned that First to Bachalpsee is open but there is still snow so good boots/hiking shoes are necessary. Of course, the lower elevation hikes are open such as:

Grütschalp to Mürren

Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg

Stechelberg to Mürren (including Gimmelwald)

Kleine Scheidegg down to Wengen

Many thanks for sharing that information Kim! Luckily one can choose from many trails at many altitudes. Next weekend is going to be warm, but nobody knows what's next, and it's only early June. In July everything should be accessible, normally.

For anyone reading this, hiking suggestions for the Jungfrau region can be found here www.myswissalps.com/jungfrauregion/activities. The altitudes of the trails are listed too.
