Hi,

i am planning a 10 nights trips with first 3 nights at Oaris and from there I would be travelling to Switzerland through Geneva.

my question was how can I take discount on TGV Lyria train tickets.

Also how to make reservations on the trains to be used on Swiss a travel Aoass.

Hi Saumya12, welcome to MySwissAlps!

There are no discounts for Swiss Travel Pass holders (if that’s what you meant?), because the entire trip is in France (Geneva is on the border). You can get a discount by booking your ticket early and being flexible regarding date and especially time. Please see myswissalps.com/ traintickets/france.

On site it is mentioned if you have a rail pass for France and Swiss then, there is a discount. What does this mean.

Please share which site you mean so I can have a look. Meanwhile, please see here for where you’ll get discounts with the Swiss Travel Pass.

Note that the Swiss Travel Pass is for Switzerland. I thought that’s where you’re referring to. Do you actually mean a Eurail Select Pass for France and Switzerland?

Hi Saumya,

What you saw is probably on RailEurope and the pass you might have seen is Eurail Pass OR The France-Swiss (2 country) pass. With a France Rail Pass, it covers free travel in entire France hence you only need to pay for the seat reservations on the TGV Lyria upto the Swiss border station i.e. Geneva or Basel. and then use your Swiss Travel Pass to travel free from Geneva to your destination city.
