    Hi,

    > Afternoon: Lucerne to Burgenstock via boat ride, for a walking trail -> boat ride to Alpnachstad, for Mt Pilatus summit* (Lude Ride/Suspension Rope Park) -> Take Cable Car + Bus 1 back to Lucerne. *Not sure if I should consider Mount Titlis instead

    > Late Afternoon to Evening: Walking Tour to visit Lion Monument/Chapel Bridge etc

    Day 2 (Tues) : Stay In Bernese Oberland

    – Lucerne to Interlaken: via Golden Pass ~ 10.30am

    – Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen -> Stay in Wengen/Murren/Grindelward**?

    **Not sure where is the best location to stay, but prefer Murren based on scenic but Grindelward based on location

    > Murren -> Birg -> Schilthorn

    > Schilthorn -> Gimmelwald -> Trumm Falls -> Murren (maybe will include ferrata)

    Day 3 (Wed) : Stay in Bernese Oberland

    > Junfraujoch -> KS -> Grindlewald -> First -> Murren

    Day 4 (Thurs) : Stay In Zermatt***

    ***Not sure where to stay?

    – Murren to Interlaken to Zermatt: ~ 11am

    > Zermatt -> Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (via Furi/Trockener Steg) (best if there is still time for a hike)

    > MCP -> Zermatt -> Gornergrat

    Day 5 (Fri) : Stay In Zurich

    – Zermatt to Bern: ~ 11am

    > Bern -> Walk Tour (Bear Park/Framunster etc)

    > Bern -> Arrive in Zurich ~ 7pm

    Day 6 (Sat) : Zurich to Salzburg

    > Zurich -> Walk Tour (Swiss National Musenum/Lake Zurich/Kunstanus)

    – Zurich to Salzburg at 11am

    I have yet booked any Swiss Travel Fare, or any accomodations hence would if I could get any advice on the itinerary (i think it might be too packed), travel transportation and nice accomodations (incl air bnb) 🙂

    Many thanks in advance.

    Cheers,

    Dorothy

    Hi Dorothy, Welcome to MySwissAlps and congratulations to your wedding!

    How lovely you’re spending some of your honeymoon in Switzerland.

    I see you’ve done quite some research about your itinerary. You will find all of the destinations you mention on this page by typing them into the search bar.

    In order to find out about travelling times for your plans, use our timetable link. Make sure you read how to use it, it is an absolutely invaluable tool for planning. This will also help you to find out if you have planned too much for the day, as acceptable travelling times and trip-lengths are very individual:

    Day 1 I think is perfect. I personally would stay with Mount Pilatus, especially the Golden Roundtrip, as Mount Titlis is “more comparable” to your later destinations in the Bernese Oberland.
    Here some additional helpful links:

    Day 2 will also work, depending on when you are ready to start and end your day. Use these links additionally to the timetable to find out what works best for you.

    On Day 3 I assume you will want to hike from Männlichen to the Kleine Scheidegg before going to the Jungfraujoch? That will work ok, but keep an eye on the weather and state of the path:

    Day 4 again is fairly long but you can do it. For ideas on where to stay, look at the “Hotels” tab of this link (you can find this tab in most of the places you mention for your itinerary):
    http://www.myswissalps.com/ze rmatt/hotels

    Day 5 and Day 6 will also be fine if you’re ok with the travelling times you find using the timetable.

    Regarding rail pass options, you can see an overview of available rail passes, national and multi-national ones here:
    http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses

    As you will be moving around quite a bit you might want to look at the Swiss Travel Pass as one of the popular national options:

    Once you have a clear itinerary for your stay, use the spreadsheet in below link for detailed calculation:

    I hope this provides some helpful input to continue planning.

    Get back to us anytime.

    Best,
    Steph

    There’s one thing to watch out for. If you are arriving from many time zones away (e.g. the US), then jet-lag can be a very real issue the first (and possibly second) day. You arrive in Zurich at about 8 am. You may very well feel like a zombie that morning and also afternoon. You’ll make it to Lucerne on adrenaline, but at some point after that, be ready for the need to crash at the hotel. My best advice is to avoid taking a nap and try to maintain your schedule.
