Interlaken to Zermatt via Glacier 3000

    Hi,

    We wish to travel from Interlaken to Zermatt on 21st April. We also want to visit Glacier 3000 enroute. how advisable or convienient is it to travel to Glacier 3000 from interlaken and from glacier 3000 to zermatt, with 2 piece of luggage for each person. kindly advise.

    Hi Sisir,

    It is doable but going to make for a long day. You can use the timetable to plan it out. The stop for the Glacier 3000 cable car is Col du Pillon. Read about the route at http://www.myswissalps.com/glacier3000/gettingthere as well.

    So you can enter Interlaken ost to Zermatt VIA Col du Pillon. This turns into about 7 hours of train and bus travel. Not including the cable car up to the Glacier 3000 (20 minutes one-way) plus time on the mountain.
