Is it good idea to drive a car in Alps in October?

Hello. I intend to drive by furka Gottard and susten pass and also from Interlaken to the nearest town of Zermatt in late October . I wonder if this period of October the roads are often dangerous due to cold or are still walkable to run . Thank you.
