Which quaint town in the Swiss Alps in January?

    Flying into Zurich in January & want to take a train to a quaint Mnt town to relax and site see for 4 days. Easy access from Zurich airport by rail is desired. Great vista’s of Alps desired. What towns would you suggest?

    Great that you get visit Switzerland in winter. There are plenty of options for beautiful mountain towns. Not all of them will be quaint though, as it’s skiing season and many mountain resorts will be quite busy with residents and tourists enjoying winter sports. You’ll also have to count on a couple of hours of train traveling from Zurich, as the city is not that close to the mountains: myswissalps.com/timeta ble. Here are some thoughts:

    Be warned that January is the ski season so the majority of ‘quaint mountain towns in the Swiss Alps’ become bustling ski resorts – for some this is fine, for others it isn’t quite as nice as visiting off season (personal choice)
