We went to the last fest in 2019. We ate traveling from the United States for the festival in Basel 2021. Will the festival be held in June as planned? What type of precautions will we experience? Should we cancel our trip to switzerland and come another year when hopefully this pandemic has subsided?

    Hi dc3749,

After postponing the event last year due to Covid-19, the organising committee rescheduled the Yodelling Festival in Basel to 25 – 27 June this year. In my opinion, it is still too early to confirm this and there may be possibility it could be cancelled again. As of now, large scale gathering and events are still not permitted in Switzerland. Based on current news, these restrictions may be lifted in the next stage of reopening at the end of March. I would suggest you wait until then before making any travel plans.

You can keep yourself up-to-date with the latest news and coronavirus situation in Switzerland from the following links:

You can also visit the Yodelling Festival’s official website to get updates about the event: http://www.jodlerfestbasel.ch/home.html (unfortunately it’s available only in German & French 🙂

    Hope that helps!

    Regards,

    Anna
