Kleine Scheidegg restaurant: is rösti available?

Our last trip to Kleine Scheidegg 10 months ago revealed that the outstanding Rosti Bernase was no longer on the menu at the Train station's restaurant. It was a great lunch after a morning of exploring & walking near the Eiger. It was a staple for years, but last year the menu was basically pizza & sandwiches. We'll be going back to Switzerland this year, and if it is still off the menu, we'll skip KS and spend a bit more time in the Lauterbrunnen valley.

Has anyone been there recently for an update?

I was there a few weeks ago and ate a delicious rosti whilst sitting outside enjoying the views. Well worth a visit in my opinion!

That's good news. Last year, the only rosti available was from an outdoor stand, and it was basically plain potatoes on a paper tray, a far cry from the plated combination of potato, cheese, bacon, and egg that was on the restaurant menu. Nothing better than having that for lunch on a sunny day outside looking at the Eiger while sipping a cod wheat beer.

A great alternative to the restaurant at Kleine Scheidegg is the one at Eigergletscher station. The food there is over the top fantastic and they have a delicious rösti along with lots of other choices.

If you're lucky there will be a table open on the veranda where you can dine overlooking the glacier
