For anyone who likes to swim laps/lengths, even while on vacation. These are the pools we went to on our trip. We found that indoor pools (hallenbad) often have lanes for exercising and that outdoor pools tend to be mainly for recreation. Going to pools while travelling overseas is also an interesting experience--you are doing something with the locals, and each place has its own way of organizing things like lockers, changing rooms and showers.
Lucerne: Hallenbad Allmend--beautiful facility, great view of Mount Pilatus
Murren: Pool at Alpine Sports Center. Was free due to staying at a hotel nearby.
Thun: Hallenbad Oberhofen in the nearby town of Oberhofen, a short bus or boat ride from Thun. While you are there, visit the Oberhoften castle.
Bern: Hallenbad Hirschengraben, close to the Old City.
