Leysin to Gornergrat and back

During my stay at Leysin from 5th to 12 th May 2012, I want to visit on one day, from Leysin to Gornergrat & back using my 2for 1 rail pass. I may start from Leysin around 0630 hours and do not mind returning at 2200hrs. I am expecting to roam around for one hour at Gornergrat and 2 hours at Zermatt.
On another day I want to visit Lucerne & back to Leysin.
Is it easy to do? Or any other better suggestion please?

Hi jogijsr! Both trips would require long traveling times (about 4 hours for a single journey), but if you don't mind getting up early and reaturning late, it's doable. Did you check the timetable for specifics? That's the best way to find out whether the traveling times involved are acceptable for you.
