Our last night is in Geneva so that we can fly out 4-4-17 to Barcelona at 8:50 am. Checking various sites for a room indicates that a hotel room is pretty pricy in Geneva and most Airbnb rooms require a multi night stay.

Am I able to consider staying farther from Geneva in a town near the lake, then taking a train early on 4-4-17 to make the 8:50 am flight. We were planning on staying in Montreux April 1 and 2. Is there an early train from Montreux to Geneva or airport to make a 8:50 flight? Or is there another closer town to the Geneva airport that would make the April 4 trip to the airport easier?

Our last Swiss Travel Pass day is April 3rd, so we were planning to stay in Geneva, then use another mode of travel to get to the airport the morning of April 4th. Any suggestions on what might work best?

Did you check the listings on the below pages? Geneva is indeed quite expensive, but these pages list hotels in every price category.

Train schedules can be found in the Swiss timetable.

Public transport is free if you book a room within the town of Geneva, so it’s no problem if your Swiss Travel Pass is expired by then. Please see myswissalps.com/geneva /travel.

Try the Youth Hostel in Geneva also close to the Train station for train direct to the airport

Prices are quite reasonable considering.
