My daughter and I will be arriving in Zurich late on Friday 22nd and leaving from Zurich afternoon of 25th. We are adventurous and fit, love to hike, but are not that experienced. We would like to have 2 adventurous days with plenty of hiking and are looking for suggestions on where to go, hike and stay. We figure we’ll spend Monday exploring Zurich so we have 2 full days for outdoor adventure.

There seem to be an overwhelming number of possibilities, such as spending the 2 days in Interlaken and/or Grindewald, traveling to Zermatt / Matterhorn, doing day trips from Zurich such as the 7 Egg hike and zip line, and so many more.

This is our first time to Switzwerland and we know it is brief, but want to make the most of it..

Yes, there are no shortage of hiking options in Switzerland! There aren’t too many options around the Zurich area (light hiking certainly but not the kind you may associate with Switzerland).

The Jungfrau region will have the most popular hiking options as will the mountains are Lucerne.
Have a read through our webpage on hiking to see some trails and where they are in Switzerland and also on the following towns and be sure to click on the what to do tab for each town:

Interlaken
Lauterbrunnen
Wengen
Grindelwald

Also, please find the Swiss railways timetable here to help plan your trips from each town or from Zurich etc.
