    Hello there,

We are arriving in Zurich on 21st July and planning to fly out of Zurich on 4th August. Our flight is at 13:00 hrs on 4th August.

We would be staying in Lugano.

Would it be feasible to take an early morning train from Lugano, say at 8:00 hrs to Zurich airport directly to catch our flight in time?

Are trains in Switzerland efficient and timely to take that chance of traveling on the same day or would you recommend coming one day earlier and staying in Zurich?

    Appreciate your response.

    Thanks,

    Hi Shasukhy,

If you take the 8.30 direct train from Lugano, you will reach Zurich HB at 10.27. There’s also a 7.01 direct train if you wish to leave earlier. From Zurich HB you can take a connecting train to Zurich Airport in just 10 minutes. So that should give you more than enough time to catch your flight.

Swiss trains are known to be on time and efficient. Any changes to the schedules are usually reflected in the timetable. Just make sure you’re at the station early and on the right platform on that day because the trains won’t wait 🙂

    Regards,

    Anna

    Thanks Anna.

Yep. We will ensure to be on the platform before time, as we don’t want to miss our flight.

This option will give us one more full day in Lugano.

    Thanks again
