Milan to Tirano

We are in Milan in September and plan to take a train to Tirano and on to Celerina. In view of the post " Trains from Switzerland to Milan likely to be busy May to Sept 2015" are we likely to be affected when traveling on regional trains on this route?

I understand that you can't book Milan to Tirano in advance, is this right?

I don't know the details of all trains, but I wouldn't expect a regional train out of Milan to be problematic at all. I don't see a way to book these trains in advance. They are 2nd class only regional trains. Milan may be busier than usual at times, and particularly long distance trains are popular during large events like this.
