I’m looking at this itinerary from sbb:

    Station/Stop Date Time Platform

Milano Centrale Fri, 22.09.17 dep 12:23

    Brig arr 14:16 1

    ————————————————————————————

    Brig dep 14:16

    Brig Bahnhofplatz arr 14:23

    ————————————————————————————

    Brig Bahnhofplatz dep 14:27 12

    Zermatt arr 15:51 5

Is “Bring” and “Brig Bahnhofplatz” referring to the same train station? Are 7 mins enough time to change platoforms from 1 to 12?

    Hi anasilva,

Brig is the main station where the SBB (Swiss Railways) trains arrive and depart. Brig Bahnhofplatz is the station across the road used by the Matterhorn-Gotthard Bahn trains, including the one to Zermatt.

Your train from Milano will arrive on Platform 1 in Brig, which is adjacent to the street you need to cross to get to the platforms for Zermatt.

You just walk out into the street adjacent to Platform 1, from where you will see 3 platforms across the road (Platforms 11, 12 and 14) and head towards them. I have attached a few photos to help you visualise it. Seven minutes is plenty of time.
