Hi All,

I will be travelling to Switzerland in May and I will be arriving in Zurich on 4th May and then travelling to Lugano (3) > Lucerne (3) > Wengen (4) > Montreux (3) and then catching a return flight on 17 May.

Now I have 2 options: On 17th early morning, from Montreux go to Geneva (1 Hour) and catch a 11.30 AM flight from there or

from Montreux go to Zurich (3 hour) and catch a 11.30 AM flight from there.

The flight from Zurich is lot cheaper and I checked sbb timetable and I can reach Zurich Airport by 9 AM from Montreux.

So the Zurich option should be safe enough, right? Can anybody see any problem with this plan?

Hi Voroshin,

Funny, I’ve done that myself when there has been a significant price difference… Just make sure that you are also taking the train journey costs too into account as well as ample check-in time just in case. Always better to be at the airport early and relax than to arrive in the nick of time 😉

Thanks Maria. I will be getting Swiss Travel Pass – 15 days so train travel cost should not matter. And reaching 2 hour before departure should be ok, right?

As long as a before 06.00 start is OK for you then you can get to Zurich before 09.00

I know getting up at 5 AM is a drag, 1960man…but the things we have to do to save some money 🙂
