My family of 2 adults and 3 children under 15 years are traveling through Switzerland in December. We have a Global Eurail pass. We plan to travel the Chur to Zermatt railway line and the Interlaken Ost to Jungfraujoch railway line. Will it cost us less to use our Eurail passes with the discounts on the private railways or does it work out cheaper if we purchase the 4 day Swiss Pass with the Family Card?

Welcome lisarob! Usually, it's not economical to buy an additional second pass, but it depends on your exact travel plans. You should always calculate the options to find out what's best. I made a rough calculation and found that the cheapest solution is to use your Eurail Global Pass, and buy your three children Junior Travelcards. These will allow them to travel along for free throughout the country for CHF 30,00 per child.
