    Hi gsgoh,

Well, both are great and really different. If time or budget is limiting you I would pick the one with the best weather on the day you want to go. It also depends on when you’re traveling as the round trip up the Pilatus is only available in summer. In Winter, the funicular is closed and there’s only the cable car. Still a good trip though.

Thanks Arno. I will be in Lucerne from 18/3 to 20/3. Does that mean I cant go Pilatus at all? Regards

You can still go, but there’s only one route to the top instead of two in summer (which is kind of a luxury, most mountains just have one route). Only the cable car starting in Kriens (a suburb of Lucerne) will be open.
