We’ve the Swiss Travel Pass n wondering if we just go right up to the gondola up to Schilthorn or do we need to exchange tickets first since Schilthorn is free with STP? Thanks!

I know you can get to Mürren without a ticket. To Schilthorn I can’t say. Just front the ticket counter at Mürren and they will look at your STP and wave you through or issue you with a ticket. In any event there is nothing to pay.

The trip to Schilthorn became free with the Swiss Travel Pass in 2018. Our Swiss Travel Pass validity page is up to date.

    Hi Chantal,

The question is do you need to front up for a ticket at Mürren. Like you had to last year for Pilatus at Kriens when it was free.

Haha, real time weather information straight from Schilthorn. I’m pleased to hear the sun is shining. A day not to forget. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

What are you using for your internet connection? Someone was asking if the Salt SIM worked at the top of Schilthorn.

I bought a SIM card from home online seller. 5gb data + 100min phone calls for about CHF25. Thankfully working like a charm from Germany to France to Switzerland 😀

Hi Sim. I bought my SIM card in Singapore though it’s a UK based card. I’m sure the wonderful moderators here can advise on local SIMs. Sorry I can’t be of much help.

    Hi Simmy,

We have a web page here on Sim Cards on WiFi hotspot options here.

I’ve used the Travelers WiFi and it worked very well!

Certainly, Traveler’s WiFi works virtually everywhere in Switzerland (I suppose the odd deep valley or mountain top could have a spotty signal) but it is quite rare.
