Hi,

When buying the Half Fare Card and Bernese Oberland Pass using the SBB site, is it possible to print these off at home immediately or does it take days to process? We leave for Switzerland on Saturday so just wondering if we can buy online now or have to wait to purchase at the airport.

Hi Natalie, welcome to MySwissAlps!

The UK web shop of the SBB ships any pass to your home address for free, within 5-6 days. Some passes can be printed at home. Since your travel date is very near I’d recommend to place two separate orders, no later than tomorrow, or preferably today:

1. Go to http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk and order the Swiss Half Fare Card. After filling out your address, they will show the delivery options. Pick “Online Ticket” from the bottom of that list. They will e-mail the pass in 1 – 2 days (no delivery fees) so you can print it at home.
2. Go to http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk /en/products/ regionalberneseoberlan dpass and order the Regional Pass Bernese Oberland. You will get a discount as you will also hold a Swiss Half Fare Card, but there’s no need to purchase these in one order. Just select that you have that card. They will charge a GBP 8 delivery fee because Special Delivery is required in this case. Delivery takes 1 – 2 business days.

Would it be possible to instead purchase the Bernese Oberland pass at Lucerne train station? This way we would avoid the delivery fee.

You’re welcome! They most probably sell it there as Lucerne is within the area of validity of that pass.
