Hi Amyirwinblac,
Welcome to the forum.
Since you will be traveling in different parts of Switzerland, we recommend the Swiss Travel Pass. As you will be spending 3 nights in Colmar, perhaps just get the 4-day option for your remaining trip in Switzerland. This will give you unlimited access to most of the public transport network in the country including, trains, buses, trams and boats and some mountain railways. It also entitles you up to 50% discounts on private-run mountain trains and cable cars such as to the Jungfraujoch and the Matterhorn.

For your travel to Colmar, you might want to consider the point to point ticket on your way out. Depending on the validity of your Swiss Travel Pass, the journey back is free from Basel SBB onwards. You only need to pay for your journey from Colmar to the Swiss border station which is Basel SBB.

Thank you for your reply . We are wondering if we should rent a van then just get the Jungfrau pass for 3 days? Would that include Mürren, Wengen and cable cars go get around those areas?

Hi Amyirwinblac! If I were you I’d just stick to public transportation. It’s very easy to get around by trains, buses and cable cars in Switzerland, and much more eco friendly too. A van doesn’t really come in handy in the Jungfrau region, as parts of the area are car free anyway. So you’ll have to pay for parking costs, fuel, pick-up and drop-off costs, and so on.
