    Hi,

I understand from Zermatt train station to Zermatt Youth Hostel, quite a distance. By walk about 20 minutes. If ride by taxi , quite costly too. If by commuter red bus, possible can i use Swiss travel pass for free ride ? Some viewers said can… but some said cannot. Which and which ? Please help.

Zermatt has the symbol for ‘free local public transport’ on the Swiss Travel Pass synoptic validity map, so I imagine it is valid. I don’t know because I always have a ski pass when in Zermatt.

I think the walk is more like 15 minutes, worth walking to acclimatise yourself to the altitude
