Reservation difficulty on the Golden Pass website

Hi

I am trying to reserve 2 Panoramic seats on the Golden Pass website but unable to make it work. Can you help?

When I go their website and choose my date and destination ( Interlaken Ost - Montreaux on Aug. 8) I see the Panoramic car in grey with no option to select seats. The other cars with space indicate in red the number of seats available. When I contactd The golden pass info. they said there was space in the panoramic cars but referred me back to the website. anyone else having this problem?( I could reserve through Rail Europe but they are expensive.)

Hi Anna, and welcome! Is this the website you've been looking at?

There may have been some confusion between you and the Golden Pass employee about 'panoramic car'. All coaches on Golden Pass trains are 'panoramic', meaning that they have large windows offering nice views. There are indeed seats left in 1st class panoramic coaches on the trains between Interlaken Ost and Montreux on Aug. 8, so the employee may have referred to them. But I think you're looking for the special VIP seats in front of the trains instead. There are only few of them in each train and they may have been reserved already. I think you can best contact Golden Pass again by phone to ask for specifics about the VIP seats, if that's indeed what you have in mind. There may still be some open for reservation by phone.

It totally makes sense now...I'll call and ask about the VIP seat as they aren't available to select.
