We will be traveling between June 27 and July 5. We want to go to Mt. Pilatus on the Golden route plus Mt. Rigi and Jungfraujoch. We’d prefer to time our excursions based on the weather but are unsure if we need to book these excursions ahead of time. We will have Swiss Rail passes.

    Hi namm,

If you’re planning your own trip to Pilatus and Rigi, there is no need to make reservations to travel on the trains, boats or cable cars. But you can buy your mountain excursion tickets in advance: https://www.myswissalps.com/pilatus/tickets and https://www.myswissalps.com/rigi/tickets

With the Swiss Travel Pass, you get unlimited travel on public transportation (trains, boats) and discounted travel on mountain transportation (cogwheel train, cable cars). You can find more details here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass. Please click on the Where it’s valid tab to download a validity map so you’ll have a visual on where the pass is valid.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna
