Reservations or not?

When arriving in Zurich from the US, I’d like to take a self guided walk along the river to stretch my legs, hop on the train, then stop in Luzern for a couple of hours on my way to Lauterbrunnen; so when purchasing my 2nd class ticket from Zurich airport to Lauterbrunnen, do I need to make reservations or can I just board one of the trains departing when I am ready to leave?

    Thank you!

Hi kauaisam. Seat reservation isn’t required for such a train trip, and you can simply get on board whenever you want. Seat reservation is only required for some special panoramic trains and for international trains.
