Hi,

We are couple in the 60’s, normally we get out at 7am to start our sightseeing. So we would like to know if the below plan is logistically doable in one day.

On Wednesday July 22, 2020- Morning, Rigi trip (train to Arth -Goldau and cable up, down to Wegis and boat back to Lucern). Afternoon, train to Lake Brienz and cruise to Interlaken OST and Golden pass back to Lucern

On Thursday July 23, Morning- Stansehorn mountain. Afternoon train to Lugano, stay overnight and next day take a train from Lugano to Firenze to arrive around late afternoon.

Yes, you could do Rigi and Lake Brienz in one day, but it would be a long day. Even starting early you’ll probably not be back to Lucerne until 12:00-13:00. Then it’s a 2 hour train ride to Brienz, another 1h 21m boat ride to Interlaken OST, then another 2 hours back. Scenic no doubt, but long.

Stanserhorn is much faster, you can get there in 44 minutes to 1 hour from Lucerne. Even if you take a short walk at the top and have a coffee, you’d still be there & back in about 3 hours.
