    Hello,

We are a family of 4 and will be in Switzerland in the Middle of August. We have purchased a 3 country Eurail pass. How can we use this to book our round trip to Jungfrau from Interlaken going up via Grindelwald and coming down via KLEINE SCHEIDEGG. I believe the cog railway requires reservation. How can we make the reservation and get the discount for Eurail.

    Thanks. Nupoor

Hi Nupoor, and welcome to MySwissAlps!

    >> We are a family of 4 and will be in Switzerland in the Middle of August. We have purchased a 3 country Eurail pass. How can we use this to book our round trip to Jungfrau from Interlaken going up via Grindelwald and coming down via KLEINE SCHEIDEGG.

I think you mean going up via Grindelwald and down via Wengen and Lauterbrunnen. Both routes go through Kleine Scheidegg.

There is no need to book in advance. It is best to wait until 1 or 2 days beforehand, to make sure the weather will be suitable. If the Jungfraujoch is in the clouds, you won’t see anything.

You will need to buy a ticket for the trip from Interlaken to Jungfraujoch. Your Eurail Pass will get you a 25% discount. You can also buy this ticket at Interlaken (or any staffed station in Switzerland) 1-2 days beforehand (or on the day of travel) if it looks like the weather will be suitable.

No reservations are possible between Interlaken Ost and Kleine Scheidegg. Reservations between Kleine Scheidegg and the Jungfraujoch are optional, but might be a good idea in August, as it is likely to be pretty busy. You can make the reservation at any staffed station in the Jungfrau Region (e.g. Interlaken Ost, Grindelwald, Wengen, Kleine Scheidegg).
