How do you get from Schaffhausen to Worth castle by train or bus?

We want to visit the Falls in September and were hoping we could get a view from Worth castle, then visit Schloss Laufen afterwards.

Is much climbing involved as we are all in our 70s?

    Thank you

    Dan

    Hi Dan,

You can use the boats to travel from one side to the other. If you are coming from Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall then first you can use an elevator then there will be some steps too before you reach the boats. The boats can take you to the other side of the river, to Schlössli Wörth.

If you feel stamina, you can even walk around: http://www.myswissalps.com/rhinefalls

On the Schlössli Wörth side, you’ll find several banks where you can take a rest if you need it.

Can you get a boat from Schloss Laufen to Schloss Worth? Do they offer return travel back to Laufen? How much is the return trip? Do you get a good view of the falls from here?

    Thank you

    Yes there is a boat

It can all be found on G*****le maps/street view, including pictures so you can see the type of steps you might have to climb:

    Hi Ldgrunseit,

yes, you can use the boats to cross the river or even to have a round tour on the river. There are different routes, indicated by colors. I highly recommend to try one that goes closer to the Rhein Falls. I’ve attached a picture for you. I’ve tried the blue line several times, it was amazing. Then we crossed the river on the red line. The prices were quite reasonable as far as I remember. You can buy the boat tickets on the spot.

There are also guided tours, you find the prices of them here: http://www.myswissalps.com/rhinefalls/tickets.
