Seat Reservations - Brig to Locarno (Centovalli)?

Hello. I have read conflicting advice on whether seat reservations are possible or recommended for the train between Brig and Locarno (via Domodossola). The SBB web site does not indicate that seat reservations are available on these trains, but other tourist sites and blogs imply otherwise. We are traveling in late June on a weekday (mid-day). Hello Carl, and welcome! You don't have to reserve seats for this trip. For many connections, it's not even possible. You've interpreted the timetable correctly. The symbol 'R' indicates that reservation is possible; an 'R' in a rectangular indicates that seat reservation is obligatory. If no R is displayed, this means that you can't reserve seats.
