I am planning my travel on Dec 8 from St. Moritz to Zermatt...It appears the Glacier Express is not an option.

I am looking to purchase a ticket from St. Moritz to Chur and then Chur to Zermatt.

I saw that I have at least an option for IR or RE trains...what are the differences?

Is there a better route?

I check out of hotel in St. Moritz on Dec 8 and into hotel in Zermatt on Dec. 8.

Hi StevefromHou,

RE or RegioExpress trains are similar to IR or InterRegio trains. They both connect smaller and regional towns. However RE trains often make more stops so the journey could take longer than an IR train travelling on the same route.

You can find more information about the type of trains in Switzerland here: www.myswissalps.com/train/practical/traintypes

Anna
