    Hi,

I need help on information about the transportation from Florence to St Moritz to Zurich and lastly to Paris.

I was also wondering if I depart from Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station to St. Moritz, is the Swiss Pass valid for use? Is the train I need to ride on Bernina Express?

I really look forward to getting help on this!

    Thanks so much.

    Hi,

Well, you don’t have to travel via the Bernina Express (Tirano to St.Moritz or Chur). It’s one of the longer options, but it’s a beautiful route. Quicker routes suggested by the timetable are via Bellinzona and Thusis or via Lugano.

The problem with your travel date is that there seems to be a problem with the trains to Tirano. Either the Italian Railways don’t have a schedule yet, or there is construction work on that line. For some reason the timetable currently avoids traveling via the normal route to Tirano in that period.

Traveling via the regular route is no problem. Your Swiss Pass covers the Swiss leg of the trip (from Chiasso), so you need a ticket from Florence to Chiasso.

I see you live in Canada, so in that case you can get the ticket here: http://www.raileurope.ca/euro pean-trains/italo/how-to-book.html, and the pass here: http://www.raileurope.ca/rail -tickets-passes/swiss-pass/index.html

St. Moritz – Zurich is free with your Swiss Pass. As for Zurich – Paris: Zurich to Basel is free; you need a ticket from Basel to Paris, which is available here: http://www.raileurope.ca/euro pean-trains/tgv-lyria/how-to-book.html.
