    Hello,

I intend to stay in Switzerland for 7 nights and 8 days. I would like to either go for Swiss Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card. I would like to know if I go for 8 days Swiss Pass, when shall I order or get the Swiss Pass in hand. For e.g; if my start date in Switzerland is 7th March 2015 and exit date is 14th March 2015, when shall I purchase the Swiss Pass. Also when does the Swiss Pass actually start (from which date). Is it a single plastic card or in the form of a booklet. If it is valid for 8 days when does the first day start?

Also the same in case of Swiss Half Fare Card. I believe it is valid for one month. When does the first day of validity start. Is this also in the form of a booklet. Who needs to fill in all the details

    Thanks.

Welcome to MySwissAlps Ash Hunk! You can choose the start date of your Swiss Pass pass when ordering it. From this date on, it’s valid on 8 consecutive days. The Swiss Pass is a paper ticket with personal data, such as your name and the duration of validity, printed or written on it. Details are explained here for the Swiss Pass and here for the Swiss Half Fare Card.

If you’re still unsure which pass to choose, this guide on how to pick the best pass may be of help.

As for when to order: you can order your pass up to 6 months in advance. Delivery mostly takes a few days only, so you can wait a while and check our promotions page from time to time to see if discounts are available. If you’ve signed up for forum updates through your account, you will be notified as soon as new promotions come along.
