Swiss Travel Pass validation

I have purchased a 15 consecutive day SWISS RAIL PASS and received it with instructions to sign it and present it when needed.

Several resources (travel guides etc) state you must VALIDATE the pass at a RR office before use or get fined by the conductor.

    What is the correct solution?

    Hi danieljason,

Validation by railway staff is mostly not needed nowadays. Passes are usually printed at home and these are ready to use. It sounds like you have a paper pass which was shipped to you, but even these can be validated by yourself in most cases. Please see http://www.myswissalps.com/ swisstravelpass/ howtouse for details.

If you’re still not sure you can ask the company you purchased from. But if their instructions say just to sign it, that should be sufficient. You can also attach a scan of your pass here in the forum so we can have a look.
