    Hi Liz,

Do you mean the Swiss Travel Pass?

The type of train or rail company doesn’t matter – only the route you are on. https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ validity. So with the Swiss Travel Pass you can train from Zurich to the Swiss border of Italy for free. In this case the town of Chiasso is the border town. Whatever train you are on doesn’t matter.

You’ll then need a ticket from Chiasso to Rome, which you can buy online here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/traintickets/ita ly

If you are only going Zurich – Rome and no other travel in Switzerland then a rail pass might not be worth the money

It’s part of the entire trip. We will be in Grindelwald for a week first.
