    Hello Everyone,

I am planning a trip to Switzerland with my husband from Oct 12 onwards. I wish to visit Jungfraujoch, some beautiful lakes, cliff walk, mount titlis and mount pilatus. I will be staying at Zurich for a day, Lucern or Interlaken for 4 days and 1 day at Bern I wanted to know

    1. I know October is not a desirable month to travel to October, but since i have no other dates available, is it okay to travel in Mid October to visit all these places listed above?

    2. Will i only see snow everywhere or luckily there would still be greenery at some places? If yes, which towns/places would have beautiful greens? Is lucern or interlaken okayish to stay for looking at some amazing views?

    3. I have read few places start closing by October. The places that i have listed above also close by October? Jungfrouch i know is open all year around, what about the rest?

    4. Last but not the least, am i making a bad decision to visit Switzerland in October? What are the chances i will have not so good trip due to weather conditions or other limitations?

Hi Amy and welcome to MySwissAlps!

    1. Yes, it is still a pretty good time to come but it will start to get colder. Read more about it here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/besttimetovisit
    2. Not much snow except in the mountains in mid-October.
    3. Lucerne is nice and so would an alpine village like Wengen (https://www.myswissalp s.com/wengen) or Lauterbrunnen (https://www.myswissalp s.com/lauterbrunnen).
    4. It isn’t until late October or November generally that places start to close for the season.
    5. No real issues to be aware of except the mountain tops will be quite cold and you may get more clouds and rain than sun in the lower elevations (most towns). That being said you could still get great weather in mid-October!
