Thun - Interlaken Boat trip

Hi Forum,

We are planning a trip to swiss First days plan is to visit Rhyne falls and get to interlaken for over night stay. I am thinking of taking a boat from Thun to Interlaken on return from Rhyne. We have worked out swiss pass is the way to go my question is about the boat ride between Thun and Interlaken west what is the frequency and timings I did have a look at the pdf timetable available on http://bls.ch it did not make much sense to me I am sure its me who hasn't read it properly :( Can some one help me with this information please? also is it worth to take the boat ride after 18:00 hrs in April and spend 2 hrs or just stick to train? we are travelling two kids (6 & 11)

If you're traveling in April, the Spring timetable applies. In Spring there are only a few boat rides a day. The last one from Thun all the way to Interlaken West departs from Thun at 12:40 and arrives in Interlaken at 14:49, and this one is available on Saturdays and Sundays only. There's one later departure at 15.40 (on all days), but this boat only goes as far as Beatenbucht. You could get out there and continue to Interlaken by bus. In any case, you would have to complete your visit to the Rhine falls quite early to combine this with the boat ride to Interlaken.

A boat ride over lake Thun is very much worth it in my opinion, and fun for kids too. If you don't manage to combine it with your Rhine falls visit, then you may want to do it as a separate day trip from Interlaken.

Many thanks for the details. I don't think we will be able to make it to the last boat at 15:40 we will make the trip next day from Interlaken.
