Need to find out the process for getting tickets when in Switzerland. Understand some small stations do not have agents and some? have kiosks and have also read about an online app? Specific issues: Want to do a couple of round trips from Wengen to Lauterbrunnen . Does Wengen station have ticketing agents? Work hours if so? If not how does one purchase from a kiosk on the spot? If using an app to get an online ticket say the morning of a trip, how would that work if in fact there is such a service. Another location I have service concern about is Gerra on Lake Maggiore? Thanks AGAIN so much.

Yes, the Wengen station is staffed from 5:30 am – 6:40 pm. See here jungfrau.ch/en/ tourism/travel-information/railway-stations/wengen/

If you want to purchase tickets outside of those hours there is a ticket machine in front

Don’t know about an app nor about Gerra. Hopefully someone else can help you with that

The rail station in Gerra is tiny and is not staffed as far as I know. There should be a ticket machine. Several apps, including the one of SBB, are listed here.

Another quick question…sorry. Ticket machines at stations….what currency/coin do they take…Euros or Swiss Franc? Thanks.

No problem to ask questions! The machines take Swiss francs and cards. Don’t expect Euros to be accepted as it’s not the currency of Switzerland, and a quite expensive way to pay. Euros can be convenient for a one-night stay, but Swiss francs are the way to go in any other case. Please see myswissalps.com/ swissfranc for details.
