on checking online on some sites i found u can book trains early.

so i have to book train ticket from chur to innsbruck via sargans. on checking i found thrs a 9:09 am train from chur to sargans and then 9:37 am connecting train form sargans to innsbruck. what i wanted to ask is if i book above journey do i need to catch same 9:09 am train or i can catch next train also if i miss the earlier one. also after reaching sargans with all luggage n kids will i still be able to catch 9:37 am train? and if i miss it am i allowed to catch the next train from sargans to innsbruck on same booked ticket?

    Hi Rahul,

If the ticket includes seat reservations then those won’t work on the next train. The ticket itself should be valid for the day though, it’s just the seats that are for one train only. Please find details for such a trip here: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/austria.

Yes, unless your ticket specifically says otherwise. However, I would recommend to arrive in time and have reservations for the train into Austria. The ride is quite long so not having to wait for seats (worst case) isn’t fun.

You can always take an earlier train to Sargans if you worry about the connection. It’s a small station though so switching trains won’t take long.

Hi Rahul ac, yes, there can be a substantial price difference. Generally, such international tickets get more expensive if you book late. Booking a few months in advance is usually best. You can read about it and check prices through the page Arno linked to in his first answer.

    Hi Rahul,

All connection times offered online are sufficient under normal circumstances. But you can of course always take one earlier train so you have much more time to connect.

Fyi , when booking between Chur and Innsbruck , do check both SBB site and Oebb Site , sometimes the price varies. Eg i got mine from Innsbruck to St Moritz at 40 CHF ( supersaver ticket ) where by on Oebb site , only the early train is on early bird ticket air 29.90 Euro but the rest all 54.90 Euro ( on a saturday though ) But the point it no harm to check both site and compare the prices. cheers
