How early does the Geneva to Lausanne train leave? I will be staying in Geneva this Friday, Aug. 30 and need to arrive at the Bellerive swim center in Lausanne to attend a triathlon event Saturday, Aug. 31 that just got changed to 7 am. Earliest Geneva train departure at Cornivan station I see is 6 am. That won’t work. Greatly appreciate your help. Plan B would be to take latest train Friday night and hang out (where?) in Lausanne all night until race time. (All Lausanne hotels are booked for this event.) Again, thank you.

Thank you. Hope is alive! However, I would need to catch an early train that Saturday morning — on Aug. 31 — from Geneva to Lausanne. Can you see if they operate that early on Saturdays too? I tried link and couldn’t change the date. Fingers crossed. Thank you!

    arriving to Lausanne at 3:09, 5:09, 5:38

    Cheers,
    Steph

Thank you! Seems like Geneva’s main train station (Cornavin) is no longer called that (?) So long as the airport train goes through Cornavin at those times on the table, I should be good. I’m banking on the Swiss trains’ famed punctuality, something we are not used to with our Amtrak trains in the US. Thanks again!

    Hi weesewood,

the train from Geneva Airport to Lausanne comes trough Geneva and trains are usually very punctual in Switzerland. (I believe it is still called Cornavin, but you should just use Geneva in the timetable.)

Good luck on the triathlon! 🙂

No change in the station name; Genève’s main station has been Cornavin since I have been using it – (frequently for 59 years…) and absolutely is still

Just back from US and Canada where the Maple Leaf accrued 90 minutes of lateness between Penn Station and Niagara Falls!…

Only 59 years? Now if it were 60, I’d believe you 😁 haha. So long as Cornavin is the main Genève station, I’ll be on the right track. Thanks to all your help!
