I have some questions regarding Zurich public transportation.

Is ZVV 9’0clock pass or Swiss Half Fare cover Lindt new house in Kilchberg from Zurich HB?

Is Swiss Half Fare cover trams in Zurich area ? Since is it right we have to use trams and bus to go to Lindt new house?

From Zurich HB to Munich main station ( return), if I want to make full use of my STP, do I have to use SBB train or can DB Train also cover STP ?

2. Yes, the Swiss Half Fare Card provides discountes on trams, buses, trains and boats in the Zurich area. You can find all connections in the timetable. This page explains how to use it: http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable. Enter “Kilchberg ZH, Lindt & Sprüngli” as your destination. Or enter “Kilchberg (ZH), Lindt Chocolate Shop” as your destination if you’re intending to visit the outlet shop instead of the Lindt Home of Chocolate.

You just need to make sure you have a German ticket for the section from the Swiss border at St Margrethen to Munich. Then buy a Swiss half fare card ticket as far as St Margrethen, and ensure you board the train at Zurich on which your German ticket is valid

Hi Maria,

If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, your train travel in Switzerland is basically covered. All you need is a ticket from the nearest Swiss border town to Munich. For example, if you’re travelling via St Gallen, just book a ticket from St. Margrethen to Munich.

I am still wondering, is ZVV zone 1-2 card enough to cover Lindt outlet in Kilchberg ZH or doI have to upgrade to zone 3 ?

And is there any hop and hop transportation around the Zurich city for tourist ? Is it free ?

Hi Maria Ang,

From Zurich HB to Kilchberg you need a ticket valid for 3 zones.

I am not aware of any hop-on hop-off bus in Zurich. However the city centre is not that big and it’s possible to explore the old town on foot. A trip to the Lindt and Sprüngli Visitor Centre in Kilchberg is best combined with a boat trip on Lake Zurich. With a Swiss Half Fare Card, you can get a point-to-point ticket valid on the boat from Zurich Burkliplatz (See) to Kilchberg ZH (See) — it’s 1 hour boat trip.
