Hello Forum,

My wife, my son, and myself will be arriving to Munich Germany on Dec. 21, 2106 and purchasing a BMW car. We would like to drive to Switzerland and spend December 24, and 25 in the Swiss Alps in a cabin or a 5 star hotel. We would like the best scenic route and accommodations. Then we need travel plans from Switzerland to Venice, Italy to spend New Years eve, there. Can you give me suggestions. Thank you.

Hi Raysfire1, welcome to MySwissAlps!

Please find general information on car traveling at myswissalps.com/car. There are lots of routes, and which is best in your case depends on the towns/areas you'd like to visit. One option is to travel from Lucerne to Interlaken using the Brünig Pass, which is relatively low and should be accessible in December. Your trip south to Italy could be done using the car train to Brig/Visp and then continuing over the Simplon Pass.
