Our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 children) are going for a day trip from Tirano to St Moritz on the Bernina Express in mid October. What is the best way to get back to Tirano that evening? Happy to take private transfer/bus. Would that be quicker than another 2 1/2 hour train ride? Any help would be appreciated…

    Hi Michelle46, welcome to MySwissAlps!

Great that you’ll be enjoying the Bernina Express. The quickest route back to Tirano is simply to take the train over the exact same route. If you catch a direct train, this will take about 2h15. If no direct train is available, you’ll get to change to a bus in Poschiavo. The timetable shows the quickest options by default.

By the way, you can also have a look at this tour: http://www.viator.com/tours/M ilan/Swiss-Alps-Bernina-Express-Rail-Tour-from-Milan. Unless your stay Tirano in fixed. Tours like this depart from the big tourist centers; Milan in this case.
