First of all, i would like to thank you Arno, moderators and experts in the forum. Really appreciate the advice and help in planning in my itinerary.

Weather: i was so lucky, 7 out of 8 days sun is bright and the days were wonderful (meteoswiss app)

Travel: Swiss Travel Pass 8 days hands down the best and never regret it! (sbb app the best)

Base: Hotel Silberhorn, Lauterbrunnen (corner room overlooking waterfall and valley)

Wifi: Traveler wifi rent from Zurich, and dropped via postbox in Basel

Day 1: From Zurich airport to Lauterbrunnen

Day 2: Visit Gelmersee and Gelmerbahn – experiencing train, tram, bus, cross the Handegg bridge, open funicular to Gelmersee Lake. Then, from Gelmerbahn we make a stop at Spierz, and spent our dinner and evening at Harder Klum. beautiful sight with paragliders.

Day 3: Visit Jungrau – It was not in my list initially, but due to good weather we make our plan to Jungfrau. After Jungfrau, we plan to do simple hiking from KS to Manlichen but that time the trail is close.

Then we went to Grinderwald. We thought we can make a quick trip to First but time is so limited, so we end up eat toblerone ice cream (triangle) and enjoying our evening in Grinderwald.

Day 4: Visit Murren, Birg and Schilthorn . Lovely day with Thrill Walk, and changing cable cars (3 times) very dramatic experience haha.On the way down, we spent time at Trümmelbach Falls and easy walk to our hotel. We pass through cows, sheeps, waterfalls, waterfalls and flowers. amazingg amazing view and experience. We did fly our drone but very low flight just enough to take our pictures.

In evening we spent time in Wengen, had dinner there. Nice barbecue fish (i forgot the restaurant name) but not far from train station. Will visit again Wengen in future during winter. Wengen is beautiful and more upscale with shops and restaurants.

Day 5: We went to Kandersterg. Very scenic view from train station to the Oeschinensee lake. Had fun with summer toboggan (we went twice). We have lovely picnic at the lake.

Day 6: spending our time admiring beauty in Lauterbrunnen, even their grave looks like fairy place.

Day 7: make our trip to Basel and made a stop in Bern. it is a bit raining, so we visit Einstein museum.

Day 8: walking around Basel city (townhall) and lot of train and trams here. then, we off to Paris 🙂

Everytime we went back to Lauterbrunnen will pass through farm and rivers with valley view. Our hotel balcony overlook on Lauterbrunnen valley, sound of cowbells, waterfalls, so calm and out of this world. Will never forget this experience.I cannot wait to come back again to Switzerland 🙂

    Hello Bear2019,

Thanks a million for sharing your experiences with the other forum members, and of course also for your nice words about the forum’s support. We’re glad if we can provide helpful input.

The Jungfrau Region around Lauterbrunnen is for sure a region offering plenty of activities and fantastic scenery, as your picture proves.

Hope to see you back in the country sometime in the future.

    Take care and kind regards,
    Steph

    Hi There,

Glad to read your trip report. We are also going to be there in September. Can you please tell more about the Jungfraouch Ticket. We will be carrying a Swiss Travel pass, but cannot understand how to go about it. If we want to start from Lauterbrunnen, where do we go for Jungfraouch?
